Valet Parking Attendant

General Duties and Responsibilities:

The Valet Parking Attendant is an important role in the company. This position is responsible for greeting parkers and parking vehicles at our valet only parking facility. This is to be done in an efficient and courteous manner in accordance with Healthcare Trust of America standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Park and retrieve vehicles
  • Acknowledge and greet customers
  • Manage parking area (direct traffic, barricades, etc.)
  • Protect cars
  • Hand out and collect tickets
  • Manage vehicle keys and fobs
  • Re-route traffic when facility reaches maximum capacity and inform staff
  • Monitor and maintain safety and cleanliness of parking facility
  • Operate office equipment (e.g., computer terminal and peripheral equipment)
  • Assist in collecting, recording and depositing revenues received at the facility
  • Work special projects as assigned or required
  • Perform activities, functions and other related tasks and duties as assigned or required
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner suitable for interaction with customers, clients, co-workers and management

Minimum Training, Experience and skills:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Vehicle washing and detail experience a plus
  • Parking garage / facility experience preferred
  • Ability to work all shifts
  • Ability to work standing for hours at a time
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and run on occasion
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
  • Wear company provided uniform
  • Ability to be bonded
  • Valid Illinois drivers license required with clean driving record
