Senior Leasing Associate

Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. (NYSE: HTA). HTA is the largest dedicated owner and operator of medical office space in the United States comprising of approximately 25.3 million square feet of GLA, with $7.5 billion invested in primarily medical office buildings.

Our team is growing and we are searching for a Senior Leasing Manager to join our team in Indianapolis, IN.  Your role will oversee the direct leasing and oversight of third party brokers in our Midwest portfolio of multi-tenant medical office space.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leading lease negotiation and corresponding financial analysis
  • Maintains core understanding of market fundamentals including rates, key transactions, market absorption, etc.
  • Involvement with preparation of all leasing documentation, including but not limited to, leases, amendments, final lease submission packages
  • Guides and directs marketing and prospecting activities and gives direction to achieve desired outcome
  • Establishes and develops key hospital/broker/strategic relationships to aid in leasing/development/acquisitions
  • Direct leasing responsibility for achieving budget goals of assigned market
  • Overseeing third party leasing agents in some markets
  • Conducting property tours with potential tenants and brokers
  • Coordinating and facilitating ongoing market survey
  • Implementation and oversight of various marketing strategies
  • Regularly visiting vacant spaces to ensure “show ready” condition
  • Professional interaction with tenants, brokers, hospital clients and organization’s senior management
  • Coordinating with other employees to orchestrate and oversee all tenant relations events
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Minimum Requirement and Experience: 

  • 7+ years direct experience in medical and/or commercial office leasing (medical office leasing experience preferred) or health system real estate
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Real Estate License
  • Extensive experience with cold calling and canvassing and/or physician recruitment
  • Excellent analytical, time management and organizational skills
  • Above average technical proficiency (versed in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and CoStar)
  • Developed interpersonal skills – comfortable working in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, strong interest in a sales position
  • Top-notch communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven marketing and creative prospecting tactics
  • Must be able to travel
