Business Intelligence Developer

General Duties and Responsibilities:

The Business Intelligence Developer provides management with key information to assist in making business decisions.  This position is responsible for working with Subject Matter Experts throughout the organization to define, research and develop analysis tools, reports and dashboards. The Developer is responsible for building, maintaining and continually improving business intelligence technologies including SharePoint, SSRS, Data Warehousing and Workflow programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with department managers and directors to identify and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to help track information that support departmental goals.
  • Identify operational processes to design and implement workflows and online interactive forms.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and software versioning.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting to improve existing BI systems and existing software applications.
  • Apply an understanding of best practices to design, develop and implement BI solutions including reporting tools, online analytical processing (OLAP), benchmarking, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and interactive dashboards.
  • Develop strategies to integrate legacy systems with the goal of streamlining information, increasing accuracy, and improving efficiency.
  • Act as liaison between various operational departments and accounting to assure all reporting requests are tailored to fulfill both day-to-day and reporting requirements.
  • Develop specifications and standards for data entry, validation and presentation.

Minimum Training and Experience:

  • BS/BA degree required
  • Software development with 3-10 years’ experience and basic knowledge of the following:
    • SQL
    • Transact SQL
    • SQL Stored Procedures
    • SSRS Report Development
    • API Development
    • HTTP Web Requests
    • Javascript
    • XML
    • Database Design
    • Data Warehouse Concepts and Strategies

Experience in the following software is a plus:

  • MRI
  • SharePoint and SharePoint Designer
  • SalesForce
  • Nintex Forms and Workflows
  • Avid Xchange A/P
  • Angus Work Order
  • Chrome River Expense Reporting
